The latest Album released by Sri Lankan artist Nalin Jayawardena is now available for purchase through the leading music vendors in Sri Lanka, and worldwide through internet music vending sites. The CD titled as PAATA PAATA HEENAYAK is dreams come through for Nalin Jayawardena and hopefully be so for Sinhala music loving fans too. This CD consisting of 20 songs created by leading musicians and lyrics-writers, demonstrate the variety of rhythms and tunes to reflect the creations in the past five decades of music in the Sri Lankan music scene. This CD may join the history as the first CD produced of this kind. CD consists of a rap song, a nawa rithma song, and a kapprina song and a variety of other music traditions, styles and rhythms. In addition, a tribute song to one of the Sri Lankan pioneering masters, the music guru Fernando from Kahalla, Katugastota who composed songs in the late 50s and taught music to some of leading Sri Lankan music maestros of the day, too is included. The lyrics for the songs were written by Dr Vicumpriya Perera, Dr Vidyani Manathunga, Shelton Nawarathana, Latha Perera, Dulip Patabendi, Ruwan K Ratnayake, and Ananda Waidyasekara. The melodies for the album were done by legendary-musician Nimal Mendis, Rohan Jayawardena, Bhadraji Mahinda Jayathilaka, Sangeeth Wickamasinghe, and Ananda Waidyasekara. Music backing for some songs was carried out by the leading Sril Lankan band Seeduwa Sakura including the Rap song and the Nawa Rithma version of the famous song Kanda Paamulaye. It also includes a song created to go very close to the top western hit Falling in Love sung by late King of the Pop Elvis Prestley as a tribute to the legend. Nalin was the first Sri Lankan artist to release a Sinhala song CD through the internet enabling fans to download the complete album free of change in August 2004 ( http://netcd.lakderana.com ) with the support of his brother Rohan Jayawardena, an accomplished musician and vocalist himself, and the premiere Sinhala music website www.sinhalajukebox.org. This is the 5th CD released by Nalin.
